أعلنت المصلحة الوطنية لنهر الليطاني بدء موسم الري لعام 2026، انطلاقاً من سدّ الزرارية وصولاً إلى منطقة الغازية، بعد استكمال أعمال صيانة وتأهيل واسعة طالت شبكة الري في الجنوب، رغم الظروف الأمنية المعقدة التي تشهدها المنطقة.
وأوضحت المصلحة، في بيان، أن فرقها تمكنت خلال فترة قصيرة ومن داخل مناطق خطرة ميدانياً، من إصلاح الأضرار التي خلّفتها الاعتداءات الأخيرة، بما شمل إعادة تأهيل منشآت الري، وصيانة المآخذ، وتنظيف القنوات والأنفاق والمجاري المائية الرئيسية والفرعية، لضمان استمرارية تدفق المياه على كامل الشبكة.
وأكدت أن الموسم الجديد يهدف إلى تأمين مياه الري لأكثر من 6000 هكتار من الأراضي الزراعية في الساحل الجنوبي، بما يساهم في دعم الأمن الغذائي وتعزيز صمود المزارعين واستمرار النشاط الزراعي في القرى الجنوبية.
كما أشارت إلى أن الفرق الفنية والإدارية واصلت أعمالها بالتنسيق مع الجيش اللبناني، حفاظاً على سلامة العاملين وضمان استمرار الأشغال والخدمات العامة رغم التهديدات الأمنية القائمة.
ودعت المصلحة المزارعين إلى التعاون معها واعتماد الاستخدام الرشيد للمياه، بهدف الحد من الهدر وضمان توزيع عادل ومستدام للمياه على مختلف المناطق المستفيدة.
The Litani River Authority announced the start of the 2026 irrigation season, stretching from the Zrariyeh Dam to the Ghazieh area, following the completion of extensive maintenance and rehabilitation works on the irrigation network in southern Lebanon, despite the complex security conditions affecting the region.
In a statement, the authority explained that its teams managed, within a short period and from highly dangerous field areas, to repair damage caused by the recent attacks. The works included rehabilitating irrigation facilities, maintaining water intakes, and cleaning canals, tunnels, and major and secondary waterways to ensure the continuous flow of water across the entire network.
The authority stressed that the new season aims to provide irrigation water for more than 6,000 hectares of agricultural land along the southern coast, contributing to food security, strengthening farmers’ resilience, and sustaining agricultural activity in southern villages.
It also noted that technical and administrative teams continued their work in coordination with the Lebanese Army to ensure workers’ safety and maintain ongoing operations and public services despite existing security threats.
The authority called on farmers to cooperate fully and adopt responsible water usage in order to reduce waste and ensure fair and sustainable water distribution across all beneficiary areas.
