رغم مرور أربعة أيام على استهداف آلية للجيش اللبناني على طريق كفرتبنيت - الخردلي في 1 حزيران يونيو ٢٠٢٦ ما أدى إلى استشهاد ضابطين وعسكري، لم تتقدم الدولة اللبنانية حتى الآن بأي شكوى إلى مجلس الأمن ضد إسرائيل.

وكانت المحطة» قد كشفت، نقلا عن مصادر في السراي الحكومي، أن رئيس الحكومة نواف سلام رفض سابقا تقديم شكوى ضد إسرائيل، مبررا ذلك بأن لبنان يخوض مفاوضات مع الجانب الإسرائيلي، متسائلاً: " كيف يمكن تقديم شكوى ضدها في الوقت نفسه ؟ عيب ونحن عم نفاوضها "

According to Al-Mahatta, despite four days having passed since the targeting of a Lebanese Army vehicle on the Kfar Tebnit–Khardali road on June 1, 2026, which resulted in the deaths of two officers and one soldier, the Lebanese state has yet to submit any complaint against Israel to the United Nations Security Council.

The report says this silence raises major questions about the positions of the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Foreign Minister, none of whom have issued a public statement or taken steps toward holding the attacker accountable, as if the deaths of the servicemen do not warrant even a formal complaint.

Al-Mahatta also stated that it had previously revealed, citing sources at the Grand Serail, that Prime Minister Nawaf Salam had opposed filing a complaint against Israel, reportedly arguing that Lebanon is engaged in negotiations with the Israeli side and asking: “How can we file a complaint against it at the same time? It would be inappropriate while we are negotiating with it.”
